Over het project

Initially born out of an Erasmus+ project, iCoachKids  has become a global reference point thanks to the efforts of all founding partners and the multiple collaboration agreements signed with national and international organisations. This growth has brought about a whole host of new opportunities and developments, which whilst positive, have also exposed the need to create a suitable legal and operational structure to manage what has come to be known as “The iCoachKids Global Movement”, whose mission is to promote sport policy, education and practice that PUTS KIDS FIRST. Our mission is to help kids get the most out of sport. Our online platform gives youth sport coaches the knowledge and tools to share and learn from one another, so they can give kids the best playing environment and motivation to stay in sport longer. Kids who move, can move the world.

Aanleiding

Millions of children and young people take part in sport and physical activity across Europe every day. However, the majority of their coaches are either not qualified or hold lower level generic qualifications that do not prepare them specifically to work with this age-group.

Doelstelling

ICOACHKIDS (ICK) is an international, collaborative, multi-agency, Erasmus+ co-funded project aiming to support the development of a Specialist Children and Youth Coaching Workforce across the EU to ensure all youth sport participants have a positive experience led by suitably trained coaches. First project for 6-12 years (2016-2019), and the second projet for 13-18 years (2020-2023).
